1. About the Services

Call the Midwife Marguerite provides:

  • Midwife-led care
  • Lactation consultations
  • Tongue-tie assessments and divisions

Services are delivered via home visits and virtual consultations. All care is evidence-based and tailored to the information you provide.

Regulatory Information

  • Registered Midwife (NMC: 111E1039E)
  • Fully insured with Westminster & RCN

Emergency Disclaimer
Call the Midwife Marguerite is not an emergency service.
For urgent concerns, call 999, NHS 111, or attend A&E immediately.


2. Booking, Payment & Pricing

  • Appointments may be booked via email, phone or WhatsApp.
  • Payment is required at least 24 hours before the appointment.
  • If payment is not received, the appointment will be cancelled.
  • Prices are listed on the website or confirmed in writing.
  • Travel and overtime fees may apply.
  • All invoices must be paid in advance.

3. Consumer Cancellation Rights (Distance Bookings)

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations (2013), clients booking remotely have a 14-day cooling-off period.

If you request your appointment during this period:

  • You may be charged for any part of the service already delivered.
  • If the service is fully completed within the 14 days, the right to cancel is lost.

Cancellations must be sent via email or WhatsApp including your name and appointment details.


4. Rescheduling & Provider Cancellations

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to reschedule.
  • Less than 24 hours’ notice may result in a 25% late cancellation fee.
  • If the provider must cancel, you may choose a new appointment or receive a full refund for that session.

5. Scope of Practice & Client Responsibilities

Advice is provided within the scope of Midwifery, IBCLC lactation care, and Tongue-Tie Practitioner practice. Outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Clients are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate health and medical information
  • Following aftercare and safety guidance
  • Seeking urgent or emergency medical help if advised

Safeguarding
Concerns for the welfare of a baby, child, or vulnerable adult may require sharing information with statutory safeguarding services, in accordance with UK law.


6. Tongue-Tie Procedures (Additional Notice)

Before any frenotomy, risks, benefits and aftercare instructions will be explained.

Possible risks include:

  • bleeding
  • infection
  • discomfort
  • reattachment

Follow-up may be recommended and may incur fees unless included in your package.


7. Records, Privacy & Confidentiality

All records are stored securely and confidentially.
Information is shared only with your consent or where legally required.

8. Fees — Travel & Overtime

Travel Fees:

  • Over 40 minutes each way: £50 per visit
  • Multi-visit packages: £100 total

Overtime:

  • In-person: £30 per additional 30 minutes
  • Virtual: £30 for up to 30 additional minutes; full extra fee beyond 30 minutes

Additional equipment or testing will be quoted in advance.


9. Virtual Consultations

Clients must ensure:

  • A quiet and private environment
  • A stable internet connection
  • A suitable device setup

An in-person visit may be recommended if clinically required.


10. Liability

Nothing excludes liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • fraud
  • statutory rights

All other services are provided “as-is”.
Indirect or consequential losses are excluded where the law allows.


11. WhatsApp Support

  • Included for two weeks after a postnatal consultation.
  • For packages: from the antenatal appointment until two weeks after follow-up.
  • Hours: 9am–5pm, Monday–Saturday.
  • Expected response: within 24 hours.
  • Not for emergencies.

12. Photo/Video Consent (Medical Photography Policy)

Images are taken only with explicit written consent.

Purpose of Images:
May include:

  • clinical assessment
  • documenting findings
  • post-procedure comparison
  • training or education (only if specifically agreed)

Images are never used for marketing unless separately agreed in writing.

Storage & Security:
Images are stored securely in the clinical record system with restricted access.

Retention:

  • Clinical images: held for the same duration as the clinical record (7 years or until the child’s 21st birthday).
  • Non-clinical images: may be deleted sooner on request.

Your Rights:
You may request:

  • withdrawal of consent (except for mandatory clinical records)
  • deletion of non-clinical images
  • copies of images
  • limits on how images are used

13. Follow-Up & Aftercare

Follow-up appointments are not included unless specified in your package.
Additional follow-ups may incur separate fees.


14. Intellectual Property

All materials (handouts, guides, care plans) remain the property of Call the Midwife Marguerite and may not be reproduced or shared without permission.


15. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by events beyond our control (e.g., illness, weather, outages).
Appointments will be rearranged or refunded where appropriate.


16. Complaints

Complaints may be emailed to: midwifemarguerite@gmail.com

  • Acknowledgement within 3 working days
  • Full response within 28 days

17. Changes to These Terms

Terms may be updated periodically.
The version published on the website at the time of booking applies to your appointment.
